PROJECT OVERVIEW

The selected volunteer will be involved in various activities at the Vič Youth Center, a dynamic space dedicated to supporting and empowering young people. The volunteer's responsibilities will include:

• Edgar’s assistance: Edgar is the flamingo, the mascot of the Vič Youth Center, through which we want to present our activities to children and young people. The idea of the whole project is that a person designs short activities involving children and young people (including creative workshops, educational sessions, and recreational events), and then in December, a bigger Advent project is prepared.
• Maintaining a Safe and Fun Environment: Ensuring that the youth center is a welcoming and secure place for children and youth to spend their time.
• Participation in Broader Youth Projects: Engaging in additional projects designed for young people, such as career and IT workshops.
• Promotion of the European Solidarity Corps: Raising awareness about the opportunities offered by the European Solidarity Corps and encouraging participation.
• Collaboration with Local Organizations: Partnering with schools, associations, and other groups to support various community initiatives, including accompanying physically challenged individuals on mountain excursions.
• Personal Project Development: Designing and executing a personal project tailored to the volunteer's interests and the community's needs, with a special focus on preparing for the Advent season.

LOGISTIC AND SUPPORT

• Accommodation: The volunteer will be housed in a shared apartment with other volunteer that will be part of Nefiks ESC project The apartment includes shared facilities such as a kitchen and bathroom, providing all essential living amenities.
• Food and Allowance: A monthly food allowance of approximately 200€ will be provided, along with pocket money in line with the European Solidarity Corps program guidelines.
• Travel Arrangements: Travel expenses up to 275€ (or 320€ for bus/train travel) will be covered by the program.
• Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance will be provided for the duration of the project.

SCHEDULE AND WORKING HOURS

The volunteer is expected to commit to a 35-hour workweek, typically from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend activities. This schedule allows ample time for both volunteering and personal exploration of the local culture and environment.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applications must be submitted through the European Solidarity Corps portal (only these applications will be considered) by August 25th. Selected candidates will go through a selection process (task and online interview) by September 7th. The final selection of candidates is expected to be completed by September 10th.
